The
Environment
At Granada Secondary Glazing we take our Environmental
Responsibilities very seriously.
It is a source of Enormous Pride to
us that in 99% of our work we are carrying out Energy Efficient Installations
whilst Preserving The Original Windows.
Our Products produce Significantly
Less CO2 during the Manufacturing Process than equivalent PVC-U Replacement Double
Glazing whilst providing Comparable Future Energy Savings.
Additionally,
we are not removing Existing Windows that usually have A Good Many Years of Life
Still In Them and then adding them to the Ever Growing Pile of Waste Products
that all too often end up in Land Fill Sites.
Our Environmental
Policies are:
1. Granada Secondary Glazing adheres to the recommendations
of and the advice given by The Timber Trade Federation, covering: Further
information on these issues is available from The Timber Trade Federation and
their Forests Forever Campaign.

Purchasing Specification Clause Granada
Secondary Glazing supports the development of credible timber certification schemes,
which are based on publicly available forestry standards drawn up in a fully participatory,
transparent and objective manner and backed by independent auditing. Where possible,

these schemes. Where independently certified
timber is not available, Granada Secondary Glazing will prefer timber and wood
products from suppliers that have adopted a formal Environmental Purchasing Policy
for those products and who can provide evidence of commitment to that Policy.
3. Granada
Secondary Glazing comply with all of the relevant legislation governing the environmental
aspects of our activities:
4.
Granada Secondary Glazing dispose of all waste products produced in the course
of our business at registered sites in accordance with the Statutory Regulations.
The Company is registered with the Environment Agency as a Carrier of Controlled
Waste.
5. Granada Secondary Glazing will at all times carry
out our business in a manner that will promote the least possible environmental
impact whilst accepting the governance of Best Available Technique Not Entailing
Excessive Cost (BATNEEC) under the EPA, including:
- Wherever
possible to reclaim & recycle (where appropriate) products and materials
-
To liase with and promote best practise to our suppliers
- The minimisation
